Fields Wedding | Rochester, MI
I’m a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason. Our lives are forever entwined with the people we meet throughout our journey, even if we don’t speak every day there’s a reason everyone is part of our lives and sometimes it can take years to realize why fate brings us together. This couldn’t be more true for Lashay and Daniel.
Lashay’s adoptive mother and Daniel’s mom were friends in high school. A simple conversation with Lashay and her mom about relationships one night turned into the greatest set up of all time. Her mom messaged Daniel’s mom and they both decided their children should meet. Lashay was of course apprehensive (I would be too) but after seeing each other’s pictures the two started messaging, then texting and calling. The story of their first meeting is so sweet that I will just share Lashay’s description.
“Daniel and I would talk everyday and he would call after practice and games, text while he was bussing to different cities. We would just talk about everything. Cliché, right? But we did! By May, we decided we would meet for the first time in June. I headed to Lakeland to catch a few games and go out on a couple of dates with him.
When I made it to the first game; I did not meet Daniel beforehand we decided to just wait after the game. Now, that I know baseball terminology let’s set this up for you all!
6th inning Lakeland Flying Tigers have 2 outs on the board, Daniel’s teammate is at bat with two 2 strikes and Daniel is on deck taking practicing swings.. I decided to walk down the stands and sneak a picture of Daniel from behind and get back to my seat. As soon as I was about to snap the picture, Daniel’s teammate struck out and Daniel turned around in the middle of the picture, I dropped my phone and Daniel and I cheesed at each other and waved. It was the best first look ever! Time stood still for all of 5 seconds! Fast forward five years later and we still smile at each other the same way. We now share a daughter and home.”
Insert all the heart eyes. Their daughter is ADORABLE by the way! Also, does anyone else recognize Daniel as a former Detroit Tigers player? He is totally my claim to fame now, right? haha
All joking aside, the love between these two really is special. Their wedding was breathtaking, elegant and timeless but what stood out more than anything to me was the love and appreciation these two share. I felt it all day. In Daniel’s anticipation to see Lashay, in their excitement and the calmness between the two after seeing each other, you could tell that if you took away all the beautiful details the love would remain. I’ve never seen a bride more excited in my life for each moment of her wedding day so let’s start looking at these photos!
May the two of you share a lifetime deep in the excitement and simpleness of your love that you felt this day. xoxo
